Tip of the Month

Can't find shoes to compliment your coloring and wardrobe? Want to revive a pair of scuffed or tired looking shoes?

Here's a clever and cost saving solution. Color your shoes. It's easy and looks as authentic as the original color when you use Angelus Brand Acrylic Leather Paint (4 oz. bottles $5.95 each) available at:

 http://www.shoeshineexpress.com/angelusacrylicpaint.asp

and other online retailers. Simply clean and de-glaze the shoe first. I wipe the surface down with nail polish remover. Then paint on two coats of the water based color with a brush. The resulting color will not peel, crack, or rub off.

In the picture below you see the original shoe color at left. The cooler Taupe shade on the right.

Another great way to take advantage of this excellent product is to buy a shoe that you love that doesn't come in a color that works well for you. If you shop discount stores like TJ Maxx and Marshall's, you'll often find shoes that have been deeply discounted because of their impractical or oddball colors. No problem. Just change the color.

Not for use on suede or fabric.
